TWEETER THREAT VERSUS NUCLEAR THREAT
This author feels that people who are running the globe
are not as smart as we would like to believe. We read about many idiots,
fanatics, lunatics and maniacs who ruled different parts of the world at
different point of time. They were there because of the monarchy. It was a
political system which did not give the choice to citizens to elect their own
masters. In the 21st century, we believe our common
sense has evolved to a great extent. No matter what may come, we will never
accept dictatorship or one party system or any other form of the totalitarian
regime. However, this belief is rubbish and cannot be further from the truth.
The world easily accepts that a 33-year-old Dictator King
Jong Un running North Korea with the help of another totalitarian regime
(China). He has made his nation de facto nuclear power. Soon, he will have the capability to annihilate the human race from this planet, if his regime was
threatened by its own people or by another world power. North Korea can
blackmail the entire world to close their eyes and can go on in ruthlessly
suppressing democratic aspirations of Korean people. However, Kim still
represents a lesser irony.
The world’s most evolved and powerful nation represents a
far greater irony. US President Donald Trump has been established as a half
maniac by the American left-liberals, as they could not digest the defeat of
Hillary Clinton in the Presidential elections, who spent 50 per cent more money
in her campaign than Trump.
Media in the US is preparing the ground for Donald Trump’s
impeachment. People and leaders in other countries do not take him seriously
because of the propaganda of US mainstream media against him. China and North
Korea read it correctly. Trump is threatening North Korea on Twitter. His
stature and influence have been reduced to such an extent. If he decides to
launch firm action against North Korea, it will be difficult for the US
diplomats to channelize global support for US efforts. China, Russia and other
detractors of the US are better placed to dismiss Donald Trump as crackpot and
madman.
During his election campaign, Trump made it amply clear
that he did not want the US to behave like a world’s policeman. Now, he is in a
difficult situation, which is not of his making. He threatened North Korea with
fire and fury after regime tested nuclear-capable missiles.
Immediately after
the threat the US also tried to assuage the feelings of North Korea by making it
clear that it is not interested in regime change. Kim is smart enough to
remember that barking dog seldom bites. He tested the hydrogen bomb after the
threat. It will be recorded as one of the landmark events of 21st
century. The world is seeing a stronger and emerging China laughing at the US
President’s threat that the US will not do business with those who do business with
North Korea. This is US president’s response of North Korean nuclear tests.
Russia, who could be the possible ally of western
powers, has been demonized by left-liberal media to such an extent that Trump
was forced not to repair relations with it. Due to this, Russia has gone closer
to China. Both will now oppose any attempts by the US to forcibly de-nuclearise
North Korea along with Iran and many other nations. Americans elected a President, who tried to challenge
the status quo and in the process endangered his own position. Continuous
propaganda against Trump reduced his credibility all over the world. He is
facing a conspiracy at home. He is weak and cannot provide global leadership.
This event marks the ascendency of China and the decline of
influence and power. It also marks the blunders of earlier US governments who
chose to close their eyes while Pakistan was developing nuclear weapons in
1980’s, only because Pakistan was supporting Islamic terrorists fighting
against godless Soviets. Americans again closed their eyes when it caught the clandestine network of nuclear proliferation emanating from Pakistan as it was
their ally in the fight against the Taliban in Afghanistan. North Koreans could develop
nuclear weapons due to the Pakistani assistance in the initial phase of their
project.
What is the solution to this problem? Should US attack
North Korea and initiate the process of Korean unification? If South Koreans
are no longer interested in unification, should the US prop up new government in
North Korea? Perhaps, the answer is in the affirmative. But can the US do it?
end.
